Weinmaster Park
Neighbourhood Guide
Aptly named for its greatest feature, the Weinmaster Park neighbourhood is a popular place for families with children. The Park within the heart of the neighbourhood has many great features (See below in Parks section) that draw families all across the city. This section can be confusing to navigate at first, but once you realize that Morrison Drive is the main artery, you begin to see the streets that branch off are only in the shape of crescents. There are some bays that'll lead you to a dead end, but they are few.
Parks
- Weinmaster Park
Easily the most popular feature, the splash park portion of this space sees a lot of kids during the Summer months. It's the more-favoured splash park in Yorkton. Second, the playground was redone recently to accommodate those with disabilities. Instead of traditional sand, the surface of the playground is an even level of rubber. This makes it shock absorbent for adventurous kids, and easy to travel on for those in wheelchairs. There's wheelchair accessible playground equipment and areas of play. In Winter, the nearby hill is a popular destination for tobogganing. In addition to these features, there is also a walking path with lighting, an outdoor rink, a Basketball court and an open green space (on the Northern side of the park).
Schools
No schools are located inside of the neighbourhood, but the dual elementary school of M.C. Knoll and St. Michael's is directly North - within short walking distance. (For info on the schools, see East Yorkton).
