Heritage Heights

Neighbourhood Guide

Away from the Northern section of Highway #9 in the city, Heritage Heights is in its own little bubble. With no businesses or main thoroughfares bisecting this neighbourhood, traffic is strictly residential. As a result, families enjoy a close-knit atmosphere. This section of the city was part of the first expansion into the East, and attracted folks from the upper-middle class with certain "airs". The neighbourhood has matured since that time, and its ego has dissipated. Today, families with children are attracted to the close-knit neighbourhood; it really is a great place to grow up.

Parks

  • Langrill Park

This open green space is nestled behind the homes of Langrill and McBurney Drive, located on the Northeastern side of the neighbourhood.

  • Heritage Heights Park

Conveniently located in the center of the neighbourhood, this park offers a ball backstop, a Basketball court, an outdoor rink, Pickleball & Tennis courts, a walking path, a playground, and one of the only two Crokicurl rinks in Yorkton.

Pathways

  • Mayhew Pathway

This pathway connects York Road East to Broadway Street East, as well as Highway #10. There is an adjoining piece halfway, at Darlington Street East, that connects this pathway to the Dracup Pathway (located in North Yorkton). It's 1.4 Kilometers long.

Schools

There are no schools located directly in this neighbourhood, but the dual elementary school of M.C. Knoll and St. Michael's is within walking distance to the East. The Parkland College's Trades & Technology building is within biking distance across Highway #9, to the West.
